Hexagonal floats

visit page »

In metal finishing processes during stripping, chlorination, sealing and rinsing with hot water there is a huge heat loss. Our insulating Spartan® floats guarantee a large reduction in heat loss and large savings in energy costs. For an average sized plant the cost savings cover the outlay on floats within one month.

Spartan® floats are made from expanded polypropylene and are suitable for use up to 100° C. They are resistant to all chemicals used in metal surface treatment except for chromic acid.

Our insulation avoids splashing during the immersion of components. The components open a path for themselves without disturbing the rest of the floats. The floats do not block entry into the tank and settle back into place after immersion. Unlike the hollow balls alternative, our floats only need a single layer to cover the whole tank. During removal of components from the tank the floats do not jump out of the tank and are not lost underneath the tank or under the feet of the operators. They offer effective means of eliminating the vapour cloud that hovers over the uncovered surfaces. Emanations of harmful acids which do damage to installations and buildings are reduced. foul odours are suppressed.

MAIN FEATURES:

  • Large reduction in energy costs and fluid loss
  • Reduction in harmful fumes
  • Available in two sizes: 50mm and 100mm across the flats
  • 50mm – 400 required per square metre
  • 100mm – 130 required per square metre
  • Do not bounce off the surface of the tank
  • Smooth sides ensure formation of close fitting blanket
  • Suitable for use up to 100° C
  • Suitable for use with all chemicals commonly used in metal surface treatments except for chromic acid

Spartan® Wedge Clamp

visit page »

APPLICATIONS:

Primarily developed for use in metal finishing plants as a special clamping tool. Capable of withstanding the corrosive attack of chemicals used within the industry. The Wedge Clamp secures hollow sections from the inside, enabling the whole length of the section to be anodised or painted. It adjusts to suit jigs and sections of different sizes, ensuring secure fixing and good electrical contact. As the clamp fits inside the section, there are no external clamping marks, eliminating the need for wasteful trimming.

DESCRIPTION:

Tips may be added if required to give extra resistance to slip. They can be supplied in titanium, zirconium or ceramic.

Wedge clamps are moulded in glass-filled Noryl for use in anodising, giving a maximum usable temperature of 105°C, or they can be moulded in glass-filled Radel, for use in painting and electro-brightening, and at temperatures up to 220°C.

MAIN FEATURES:

  • Fast secure fixing
  • No external clamping marks
  • No wasteful trimming
  • Reduced current consumption and effluent costs
  • Versions for anodising, painting and electro-brightening

APPLICATIONS:

Primarily developed for use in metal finishing plants as a fast clamping tool. Capable of withstanding the corrosive attack of chemicals used within the industry.

DESCRIPTION:

Tips may be added if required to minimise marking of the components and to give extra resistance to slip. They may be supplied in titanium, zirconium or ceramic. The clamping force is provided by a stainless steel torsion spring. The clamp is moulded in glass filled Noryl for use in anodising giving a maximum usable temperature of 105 °C, or it can be moulded in glass filled Radel, for use in electro-brightening and painting, and at temperatures up to 220 °C.

APPLICATIONS:

Primarily developed for use in metal finishing plants as a G clamp tool.

It is capable of withstanding the corrosive attack of chemicals used within the industry.

DESCRIPTION:

Spartan clamps are moulded in glass-filled Noryl for use in anodising, giving a maximum usable temperature of 105°C, or they can be moulded in glass-filled Radel, for use in electro-brightening and painting and at temperatures up to 220°C.

A tip may be added if required in titanium for anodising (where the tip increases grip and reduces witness marks), zirconium or ceramic for electro-brightening and two-step colour processes. The clamping force is provided by a fine-thread thumb screw.  A coarse ‘fast’  thread version is also available.
