Gauge cock: applications

A gauge cock is a shut-off valve, used to isolate a pressure gauge from the pressure medium. Using the gauge cock depressurises the system, to protect against gauge failure or when inspecting, maintaining or recalibrating a line.
Gauge cocks are used in steam boilers and steam systems, compressed air or gas systems, hydraulic systems, chemical and petrochemical plants, in water and wastewater treatment, in the oil and gas industries, by power plants, and in thermal power and boiler systems.
Gauge cocks from CMT Engineering
CMT Engineering supplies gauge cocks made from unpolished brass with a hard black plastic handle. They have a three-way position for locking, discharging and venting.
With a maximum working pressure of 16 bar for steam (PN16 pressure rating), gauge cocks supplied by CMT Engineering are generally suitable for low-pressure applications.
