Tender Opportunity – Solar PV and Roof Overcladding

CMT Engineering Ltd is investing in an extension of its solar PV system along with necessary re-roofing.

The equipment named below is indicative; alternatives will be considered where equivalent or better performance can be demonstrated.

The proposed scope currently comprises:

Solar PV

  • Approximately 42.8 kWp roof-mounted array – 80 no. 535 W monocrystalline modules (benchmark: JA Solar JAM60D42-535/LB), roof-parallel at 11 degrees on the south-east slope of Building 02.
  • 1 no. 40 kW three-phase inverter with 4 MPP trackers (benchmark: Ginlong Solis-40K-5G), to be located adjacent to the site’s new distribution board.
  • Mounting system, DC and AC cabling, protection, metering and monitoring, together with design, structural loading verification, DNO G99 approval, certification, commissioning and handover documentation.

Roof overcladding – two options to be priced separately. Both options relate to the roof bays identified on the tender drawings.

  • Option 1 – the roof bay carrying the solar PV array.
  • Option 2 – that bay plus the adjacent bay.
  • Both options: new insulated profiled metal over-sheeting installed over the existing covering (type to be confirmed at survey), including support system, insulation, flashings, gutters, rainwater goods and rooflights; removal of 3 no. redundant chimneys from the roof slopes and making good; structural survey and any strengthening required to accept the overclad system and PV loading; and all scaffolding and safe access.

The solar PV and roofing elements must be priced separately, and Option 1 and Option 2 each priced separately. Quotations for part of the scope will be considered.

We welcome all relevant manufacturers and suppliers to quote for this opportunity. For the full tender specification and details of how to submit, please email Rosemary Slater at Rosemary.Slater@cmt-engineering.co.uk.
